EE • Microlearning • Microcertification • Digital Learning Resources
With addressing climate change being one of the EU’s top priorities, today we are seeing environmental education (EE) appear more frequently in school curricula. However, not all schools have implemented EE as a subject within the syllabus, and in some cases it is up to the educators themselves to decide if and how they will integrate the topic of sustainability into their teaching.
The ACCESS project aims to provide guidance and helpful resources for teachers of elementary school aged students. These resources will aid the teachers in raising awareness of the issues caused by climate change and how individuals can integrate circular behaviours into their lives in order to help the planet.
The project will achieve this by leveraging microlearning; small, bite-sized chunks of learning. The popularity of microlearning is rapidly increasing, and for good reason due to its ability to break down larger topics into manageable pieces. Not only this, the project will provide a framework for microcertification for the assessment of sustainable knowledge. These resources will be digitally driven, enabling educators to harness the power of technology in education.
