Digitisation of Vocational Education • Flipped Classroom Model
The Covid-19 pandemic caused the largest disruption to education systems in history – affecting nearly 1.6 billion students in more than 190 countries and on every continent. Experiential learning, which is one of the most important elements of vocational education and training, became largely unattainable following the mandatory change in the way we studied and worked.
The pandemic has exposed weaknesses in VET systems, including low levels of digitisation and long-standing structural flaws. Workplace disruptions made it difficult to implement apprenticeship programmes and work-based learning models – key elements of a function and market-responsive technical and vocational education.
As a result of this, the FlippedVET project was born. FlippedVET aims to support VET institutions and VET providers in order to improve and shift work experience courses by implementing a flipped work-based learning model.
