The reality of age populations applies to many countries in today’s world and begs the question not only of how society can adapt to the challenges this may pose, but also how to  harness the benefits.

One sector of society that will need to cater to older participants is that of the workforce, which is the primary focus of the Solaris project. Aiming to ensure that education workforce ageing is managed successfully and that age does not become a barrier to employment, the Solaris project will provide a set of tools including best practice examples, comparative analysis on strategies and recommendations to be used by school staff, such as managers, policy makers, social partners as well as teachers and trainers.

Continuous learning and development will therefore play a huge role in the project’s aims, and will also address the management of wellbeing.
